    Julie Ferris-Tillman, Ph.D.

    August 12, 2026

In this episode of “Tomorrow’s Cure,” experts explore how platform-based models can help health systems use data and artificial intelligence (AI) to advance healthcare. Recorded at the fifth annual PlatforMed event hosted by Mayo Clinic, these leaders shared insights with more than 260 health system executives and Tomorrow’s Cure.

In this special episode, hear from Micky Tripathi, Ph.D., chief AI implementation officer for Mayo Clinic; Gelareh Zadeh, M.D., Ph.D., David C. and Flora C. Pratt Distinguished Chief Medical Officer for Mayo Clinic Platform; Farhana Alarakhiya, chief data information officer, Aga Khan University; Aashima Gupta, global director, healthcare, Google Cloud; Maneesh Goyal, chief operating officer, Mayo Clinic Platform; and John Halamka, M.D., the Dwight and Dian Diercks President of Mayo Clinic Platform.

“Healthcare is entering a new phase in the adoption of AI,” says Dr. Halamka. “Our responsibility is to ensure these technologies translate into better care for patients. With trusted data and strong governance, AI can help healthcare professionals make more informed decisions in real time, accelerate discovery and improve outcomes.”

The conversation explores how AI can help clinicians work more efficiently. Mayo Clinic has hundreds of clinical AI solutions in development, including tools designed to organize complex medical records. AI can also assist clinicians in identifying signs of disease earlier. One example discussed in the episode highlights how a Mayo Clinic radiologist uses AI to look for pancreatic cancer that cannot yet be seen by the human eye, potentially identifying signs of the disease well before conventional diagnosis. As AI, digital pathology, voice technology and other tools continue to evolve, the podcast guests discuss how they envision healthcare becoming more predictive, personalized and accessible using shared knowledge to bring the right insights closer to each patient, wherever they live.

The episode also reflects a broader theme showcased at PlatforMed 2026: The next chapter of AI in healthcare is about moving from experimentation to implementation at scale. That means building trusted infrastructure, supporting the healthcare workforce, and turning collaboration and innovation into measurable improvements in patient care.

Listen to the latest episode of “Tomorrow’s Cure” to learn how Mayo Clinic takes on the future of AI and innovation in healthcare. You can also explore the show’s full library of episodes and guests on the show’s playlist.
