While working in New York City, I went to Bergdorf Goodman, just for fun, and saw a stunning crystal beaded headband. It cost a small fortune, but I bought it. Alas, I did NOT get married then. Not even asked! Silly me. But four years after that, I DID get married, and that crystal headband was still my absolute choice. Worked into a swept updo, by my dear friend, a hairdresser I’d known for decades. We cried when he set it on my head, because he knew how my heart had broken in the past. I still have it. Worth every penny.”
